Riders on the earth together

We see ourselves as riders on the earth together, who seek to act accordingly. At the time when man first looked back at the earth from the moon, the poet Archibald MacLeisch wrote in poetry what scientists have told us in fact about ecology and interdependence.

"To see the earth as we now see it, small and blue and beautiful in that eternal silence where it floats, is to see ourselves as riders on the earth together, brothers on that bright loveliness in the unending night - brothers who see now they are truly brothers."

Partner For People and Place is a team of ecological planners and technical specialists who have pledged their knowledge and skills to those among us in greatest need. We do so with effacement and respect - to help communities but not to smother them. We bring a portfolio of experience in planning, ecology, community development, engineering, and architecture, and a connection to an interdisciplinary network of professionals in health, education, social work, etc.

Our Mission:

  • Provide planning, design, and technical services for humanitarian and environmental projects on the frontline of poverty to improve the human condition and protect the environment.
  • Promote sustainable outcomes for humanitarian and environmental projects through ecological and community based planning.

Partner For People and Place is U.S. nonprofit 501(c)3 service provider organization supported by charitable donations from the public. It was founded to help correct a significant shortage of planning in the humanitarian assistance sector at the grassroots level.

How PPP is distinct among others in its field of service?

  • We are distinct among planning organizations because we are oriented to humanitarian assistance.
  • We are distinct among humanitarian assistance organizations because of our ecological approach.
