Help Haitians Grow Biodiesel for Family and Country
Jatropha (the "Biodiesel Tree") is a native tree in Haiti that grows on difficult land and produces clean-burning biodiesel that runs engines and fuels cooking stoves. This "Green" gift provides a dependable income for poor farming families, reduces the use of charcoal for cooking and the deforestation it causes, and gives Haiti its own homegrown and renewable energy for its tractors, trucks and power generators.
